Intellectual Output 1 - NEXT DOOR Methodology through participatory actions for engagement of multilevel stakeholders
Leading organization: MERSEYSIDE EXPANDING HORIZONS LIMITED
This output envisages the creation of a methodological framework on how to engage stakeholders from different levels around the issue of protection and care for elderly citizens in the community, this being municipalities, social and health services (public and private), organisations representing older people, elderly people themselves and general public, with a special focus on pushing for everyday people who can provide some kind of support to their elderly neighbours.
The Methodology is available to read and download in English, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, German, Portuguese and French.
Get inspired and read the community's stories!
Intellectual Output 2 - NEXT DOOR Digital Tool
Leading organization: EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION FOR SOCIAL INNOVATION (EaSI)
Community workers feel little or no support in terms of innovative and interactive tools to work with in care intervention. When they exist, they are not easily accessible, or easy to interact with, thus reducing their potential for help / support with populations in need.
In this sense, the creation of a digital tool that can support neighbours to better protect and care for elderly citizens, is of extreme need becoming an important learning and communication resource. Among other contents - the tool will have three main categories: one for elderly people, one for neighbours and one for organizations.

Intellectual Output 3 - Awareness and capacity-building programme
Leading organization: APROXIMAR, COOPERATIVA DE SOLIDARIEDADE SOCIAL, CRL
The purpose of this OUTPUT is to create a holistic programme which promotes the NEXT DOOR principles with a two-fold ambition: first, awareness raising by addressing the general public, citizens who are neighbours of elderly and elderly citizens themselves, pushing them into action, fostering their engagement in their communities and second, capacity-building to provide knowledge and learning to professionals (community workers, municipalities, social and health services) on how to put in practice a neighbourhood approach, using the resources of NEXT DOOR (Intellectual Outputs 1 and 2).
Intellectual Output 4 – NEXT DOOR model for neighborhood’s participation to protect and care for elderly citizens
Leading organization: AFEJI Hauts-de-France
This output aims to provide stakeholders (care services, policy, and territorial development) a manual in a guide format for the implementation of NEXT DOOR in their context. It will include the overall process map running across all previous IOs (methodology, digital tool, awareness, and capacity-building programme), how it works together, adding elements of results/ feedback from users, a SWOT analysis, and a LEAN plan overview of the proposed solution. The model also plans to create 7 Local Social Resources Groups.
These are taken from the model of Employee Resource Groups - made for support and career development, engagement, for reference and understanding a business - to set up local recommendations. Moreover, the LSRGs are meant to support the sustainability of the project since it will gather a group of stakeholders as a sort of community committee addressed specifically at elderly protection and engagement of their neighbors.
